Education
I earned my BA in Environmental Studies at New York University in 2019, with minors in Politics and Web Programming.
At American University’s School of International Service, I just completed my MA in Global Environmental Policy, with a concentration in Environmental Security and Peace, focusing regionally in the Middle East and North Africa.
Research Interests
My primary research focus right now is the relationship between the natural environment and conflict. My recently completed research focuses on climate change’s impact on Yemen and the root causes of their environmental issues. I also am looking at application of international humanitarian and environmental law to conflicts in the Middle East.
Outside of my regional interest, I study environmental policy, environmental advocacy and justice, and the impacts of environmental racism. I am especially interested in researching climate resilience and adaptation efforts in the United States and internationally.
I’m also interested in studying Middle East policy and legislation as it relates to environmental change and impacts of climate change on the Middle East, including water management and resource allocation.
